IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph Bryant
Marcotte
August 7, 1958 – May 27, 2025
Funeral services for Joseph Marcotte will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the Big Cane Baptist Church with Bro. Benji Richard officiating. Burial will follow in the Morrow Baptist Cemetery in Morrow. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Marcotte, age 66 of Big Cane, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at his residence.
Joe crawfished for 25 years with 18 of those years being alongside his son. His life centered around his family having homeschooled his children and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was a kindhearted and humble man and will be missed by many. He undoubtedly was welcomed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with open arms. The recent trials of Joe's life have grown his faith in our Lord. His life a true testimony of the goodness of God. His long-fought battle back to his family after a long drawn-out illness of COVID-19 has touched many lives for the better. What a great vessel the Lord used to help others see the glory of God. Joe's prayer without a doubt would be that many would come to know the Lord personally. His desire would be that others would come to know the goodness of God, the love, grace and mercy afforded to his children through the gift of salvation. His hope would be that everyone that came to contact with him would be touched by his journey.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Morris Joseph and Velma Woodson Marcotte; brother, Michael Anthony Marcotte; and a sister, Deborah Marcotte Leblanc.
Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Billie Ann Howard Marcotte of Big Cane; his children, Bryan Anthony Marcotte and wife Nikki O'Pry of Sunset and Lauren Marcotte Melancon and husband Huey Chase of Goudeau; his sister, Christine Marcotte Ortego of Morrow; and his grandchildren, Amelia Grace Melancon and Roman Joseph Melancon.
Friends may visit on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Big Cane Baptist Church.
