JOSEPH DUFOUR
Funeral services for Joseph Dufour will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Dufour, age 84 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Mercy Regional Hospital in Ville Platte.
Mr. Dufour served in the U.S. Army and also painted. He was a fireman with the City of Bunkie for 38 years and also the caretaker of Pythian Cemetery for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years Lolita Dufour of Bunkie; his two daughters, Rosaland Redmon and her husband Michael of Bunkie; and Veronica "Boo" Redmon of Bunkie; and a son-in-law Johnny Redmon of Bunkie; his grandson, Michael Jason Redmon of wife Rebecca of Bunkie; and his great-granddaughter, Amelie Eve Redmon.
Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday until 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
