A Mass of Christian Burial for Johnny Ducote will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2021 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin Rodriguez officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Ducote, age 89 of Hessmer, passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Hessmer Nursing Home.

Mr. Ducote was an avid duck hunter and crawfisherman in Lake Pearl, where he was a charter member.  He was so proud of his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He will be reunited in heaven with his wife of 64 years, Anna Mae Ducote and his son, Terry Ducote.

Survivors include his children, Mike Ducote and his wife Kathy of Centerpoint and Starla D. Clark and husband Dale of Hessmer; his brother, Maxi Ducote and wife Iris of Cocoville; his grandchildren, Andrea Aymond, Courtney Mayeaux, Wes Clark, Justin Clark, Alaina Stansell, Nicole Glenn and Derrick Ducote; and 16 great-grandchildren.
