Funeral services for John Jeansonne will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home with Bro. Russell Cobb officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery in Evergreen.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Jeansonne, age 71 of Ville Platte, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at his residence.

He is preceded in death by his parents; J.P. and Edna Rachel Jeansonne; sister and brother-in-law, Linda J. Riche/ and Dale Riche'; and sister-in-law Donna Jeansonne.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Delores "Dee" Chelette Jeansonne of Ville Platte; his daughters, Brandy J. Lee and husband Dirk of Bayou Chicot and M'Liss J. Tijerino and husband Max of Mandeville; honorary brother, David Nardecchio and his late wife Marybeth; and his grandchildren, Sebastian Lee, Kathryn Lee, Emberly Tijerino and Eira Tijerino.

Friends may visit on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
