Funeral service for John Deshotel will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at the Bayou Jacque Church of Christ with Bros. David Broussard and Don McGee officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bayou Jacque Church of Christ Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Deshotel, age 72 of Bayou Jacque, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his residence.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Louis and Else Frank Deshotel.

John was born in Wiesbaden Germany and raised in Bayou Jacque.  He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years of service in the reserves.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Janice Phillips Deshotel of Bayou Jacque; his brother, Henry Deshotel and wife Christie of Bayou Jacque; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will include; Heath Chapman, Fritz Cooper, Jr., Roger Dale Hammond, Todd Meche, Neil Speyrer and Jeremy Thayer.

Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Bayou Jacque Church of Christ.
