Funeral services for Jeremy Dugas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday June 26, 2023 at the Big Cane Baptist Church with Bro. Stacy Morgan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Big Cane Baptist Church Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Jeremy Dugas, age 48 of Big Cane, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Clarisse "Lissy" Lacour Dugas; his paternal grandfather, A.J. Dugas, Jr.; his maternal grandmother, Eloise Normand Lacour; and maternal grandfather Ronald Lacour and wife Betty.

Jeremy was a graduate of Marksville High School where he played football, lettering for four years.  He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston.  Jeremy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He loved and adored his daughter and was very proud of all of her accomplishments. He was an avid duck hunter, enjoyed fishing in his ponds and loved being outdoors.  He also enjoyed watching LSU and Saints football.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 22 years, Sheri Socia Dugas of Big Cane; his daughter, Emma Claire Dugas of Big Cane; his father, Allan Bruce Dugas and wife Rebecca "Becky" Dugas of Moncla; his siblings, Amanda Dugas of Cottonport, Kristy Turner of Fifth Ward, Khristopher Dugas of Moncla and Kevin Dugas of Moncla; his paternal grandmother, Jeanette Dugas of Marksville; his father and mother-in-law, David and Vicki Socia of Big Cane; his brother-in-law Brent Socia and wife Selena of Plaucheville and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve include Joey Dugas, Richard Dugas, Tucker Socia, Caiden Socia, John "Stu" Regard, Ron Bordelon, Kurt Richard and Taylor Ponthier.  Honorary pallbearers include Brent Socia, Brad Laborde, Steve Ducote and Sid Deshotel.  Friends may visit on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Big Cane Baptist Church.
