Funeral services for Jimmy Coates will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home.

Mr. Coates, age 67 of Boyce, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at his residence.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Tollie and Annie Mae Sudduth Coates; and a brother, Charles Purvis.

Survivors include his children; Caitlin Anderson and husband Iliyah of Alexandria, Jessica Coates Blood and husband Daniel of Woodworth and James Coates, Jr. and wife Ashley of Clinton; his companion and caregiver, Victoria Longino of Boyce; three sisters, Tanna Coates of Walnut, MS, Eunice Coates of Pine Prairie and Carol Coates of Bunkie; and his grandchildren, Eden Blood, Elijah Blood, Judah Blood, Cohen Blood, Isabella Coates, Eva Coates, Ezra Coates, Zep Coates and Admira Coates.

Friends may on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
