Obituary

Henry Wayne Corley passed from this life on September 14, 2025.  He was laid to rest beside his beloved granddaughter, Lauren Vaughn, at a graveside service in Pineville, LA, at the Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jonothan Murphy officiating.  Arrangements were under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Henry Corley grew up in Cheneyville, LA, in a loving family.  He adored his mother, revered his father, and loved and protected his sisters and brother.

Henry was a graduate of Rapides High School in 1969.  He talked of his days on the basketball court and the baseball diamond, where he shared a love of sports with his friends.  He was an avid sportsman who loved duck hunting.

Henry farmed his whole life. He was a good steward of the land God provided him. He was very innovative in his farming techniques and, as a result, met people from all over the world that he still calls friends to this day.

Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Beulah Beard Corley, his brother, Albert Corley Jr., and his granddaughter, Lauren Vaughn.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Nugent Corley, his children, Bridget Vaughn ( Wesley) of Alexandria, LA, Jeramy Lyles of Monroe, LA and Scott Corley of Lecompte, LA; his two siblings, Shirley Beaver of Cheneyville, and Robin Newton (Blake) of Bunkie; his grandchildren, Graham Vaughn, Henry Hathorn Corley, Sidney Scott Corley, Raymond Reed Corley, and Charles Colton Corley and great granddaughter, Dani Sage Gresham.

Pallbearers include Scott Corley, Henry H. Corley, Jeramy Lyles, Graham Vaughn, Matthew Newton, Breck Beaver, Charles Collins, and Antonio Garcia.

Our family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Brenda Odom, Allison, and all the staff at Compassionate Care Hospice, Sandie & Sam at Brookdale, and all the staff!
