Funeral services for Henry Bordelon will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Frist Baptist Church of Bunkie with the Bros. Mark Robinson and Michael McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Memorial Park in Pineville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Bordelon, age 78 of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at Grace Home in Alexandria.
Mr. Henry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bunkie, where he served as a Deacon. He was a Bunkie City Councilman, named Citizen of the Year, and also Small Businessman of the Year. Mr. Bordelon was a State Farm Agent for 35 years, owner of Henry's Pre-owned Cars, a financing company and adjusting firm.
His heart was full of love for God, his wife, his family and his community. He was a man of great generosity and a big heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Hilton P. and Esma M. Desselle Bordelon; and a brother, Steven Bordelon.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Clara M. Connell Bordelon of Bunkie; daughters, Lynn Bordelon Fontenot and her husband James of Bunkie, Hope Bordelon and Thad Trevillion of Bunkie; an honorary daughter, Paula Jane Sylvester and her husband Chet of Whiteville; brother, Michael J. Bordelon and his wife Judy of Marksville; sister, Terry Chaise Sermons of Shreveport; his grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth McKay and husband Dan, Henry Haas Wolff and wife Caitlin, Tyler James Fontenot, Nathaniel Brian Wolff, Gavin Wills Wolff, Walker Trevillion, Rebecca Sylvester Trosclair, Samantha Sylvester Lacombe, and Jamie Sylvester Guillory; and his great-grandchildren, Elizabeth AnnaLee McKay, and Carson Haas Wolff.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie and 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at First Baptist Church of Bunkie.
