Harolyne Moore Lester, 90, of Bunkie, Louisiana, was called by Jesus to her heavenly home on January 15, 2016.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 21, 2016, in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Bunkie, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Dr. Tom Harrison, Executive Pastor of Broadmoor Baptist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana, will officiate. Interment will follow at Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Harolyne was born August 6, 1925, in Alma, Oklahoma, to Harold and Edna Moore. Her father worked in the surrounding oil fields. During Harolyne's high school years, the family moved to Duncan, Oklahoma, when her father was employed by Halliburton Oil Company. She graduated from Duncan High School and Duncan Business School.

On November 22, 1945, Harolyne and Stewart Ray Lester, from Bunkie, were married in Duncan, Oklahoma, while he was serving in the army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. They moved to Bunkie in 1948. They were married for sixty eight years before the death of Stewart in 2013.

Harolyne accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age in Alma, Oklahoma. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Bunkie for over sixty-five years. Through the years, she served as a Sunday School teacher, Sanctuary Flower Chairman, Sunday School Secretary, and Cradle Roll Superintendent. After seventeen years, she retired as the Financial Secretary of First Baptist Church, Bunkie.

Harolyne had worked at Avoyelles Trust and Savings Bank and Bunkie General Hospital. She was a charter life member of the Bunkie General Hospital Auxiliary, serving as president for three years.

Harolyne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Stewart, and infant daughter, Pamela Lester.

Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Lester Hunter and her husband, Walter, of Shreveport, Louisiana; a son, Randy M. Lester of Youngsville, LA.; and Daughter-in-law, Shelly Fuqua Lester, of Youngsville, Louisiana. Grandsons: Stewart Hunter, and wife, Janet, of Frisco, Texas, and Marshall Hunter, and wife, Brittaney, of Plano, Texas. Granddaughter, Stefanie Lester of Youngsville, La. Great-Grandchildren: Twins, Beau Hunter and Madison Hunter, and Lexie and Noah Aguillard. Step-Great-Grandchildren, Maddox and Berkley Dilts.

Honoring Mrs. Lester as pallbearers will be: Stewart Hunter, Marshall Hunter, Tommy McNabb, Paul Reed, Billy Townsend, and Bruce Webb.
