It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harold Scallan on June 1, 2026 at Bayou Vista Nursing Home.

Mr. Scallan, age 85 of Bayhills, LA is preceded in death by his parents; Allen and Eola Mayeau Scallan; his in-laws, Hilton and Pearl Lambert Slocum; one brother, Hubert Scallan; and three grandchildren, Larry, Jr. (Blondie), Ainsley and Jeremy.

Harold worked as a carpenter and instructor of carpentry at Louisiana Vocational School in Alexandria for many years. He loved to be outdoors, working in his garden, cleaning around his pecan orchard and most of all, hunting. He was a life-long member of Woodman of the World.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Amanda Slocum Scallan ; son, Troy Scallan (Robin) of Hessmer; daughter, Rhonda Goudeau (Glenn) of Bayhills; one brother, Roland Scallan; one sister, Diane Turner; grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsey, Morgan and Jordan; and great-grandchildren, Landon, Melanie, Aliyah, Maddie, Bentley, Reid and Riley.

In honor of Harold’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. He will rest in peace at St. Alphonsus Mausoleum in Hessmer.
