IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Harlon Lee
Hugh Bradley
January 26, 1933 – November 29, 2023
Hugh Bradley, age 90 of Bunkie, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at The Bailey Place in Bunkie. He was born on January 26, 1933 in Bunkie, LA. He graduated from Bunkie High School in 1951. Shortly thereafter he entered the military service at the request of the U.S. Government as the Korean War was in progress. After basic training, he was sent to Syracuse University for a 48-week course to learn to read, write and speak Russian.
Upon graduation, he was sent overseas and was a Russian Translator. After military service he went to LSU and earned a degree in Civil Engineering.
Hugh spent 37 years as a Construction Manager for The Dupont Co., The Boeing Co. and a mid-size contractor in Maryland. He completed numerous projects in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Louisiana.
The last ten years of his professional career was as the Director of Facilities Management for a 500-bed hospital in Pinehurst, N.C.
Hugh met and married his lovely wife Joyce while in Delaware. They had two sons, Robert Mark Bradley (Trudie) of St. Augustine, FL and Michael Goodwin Bradley of Bunkie, LA.
He retired in 2007 and they moved to Bunkie. Unfortunately, his Joyce passed away on 2019 and was terribly missed. He loved to play golf and was an avid bird hunter. He liked to fish, but only when they were biting!
He will be cremated and his remains will be buried next to his beloved Joyce in Laurel, DE.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
