A Mass of Christian Burial for Gladys Prejean will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Goudeau with the Rev. Bartholomew Ibe officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery in Evergreen. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mrs. Prejean, age 86 of Carencro, formerly of Goudeau, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Evangeline Oaks in Carencro.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Prejean; her parents, Alfred and Bessie Lou Willis Goudeau; two sons, Ronnie and Johnny Prejean; a sister, Edna McDonald; and three brothers, Emile, Wilson and Pierre Goudeau.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Don Prejean and his wife Sherri of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Robert Lee "Boo" Prejean of Evergreen; two daughters, Dorothy Simoneaux and her husband Ronald of Carencro and Debra Sue Ducote of Carencro; three brothers, Alfred Goudeau, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Otis Goudeau of Covington, and Clyde Goudeau of Osaka, MS; two sisters, Marcelina Jackson of Big Cane and Jacquelina Saucier of French Settlement; her grandchildren, Blaine, Ronnie, Johnny, Joseph, Eric, Brad, Angela, Jessica and Jeremy; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Charles Catholic Church in Goudeau. A rosary will be cited shortly before the service.
