GERALD JOHN DESHOTEL
Funeral services for Gerald Deshotel will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Deshotel, age 62 of Bunkie, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at the Bunkie General Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Hosea and Verdie Mayeux Deshotel.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years; Marie Bernard Deshotel of Bunkie; 5 brothers, Charles Deshotel of Slidell, Ralph Deshotel of Hessmer, Hosea Deshotel, Jr. of Belldeau, Eddie Deshotel of Bunkie and Gene Deshotel of Bunkie; 4 sisters, Lorraine Landry of Lafayette, Rosalee Gaspard of Mansura, Diane Deshotel of Slidell and Connie Deshotel of Bunkie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will include; Cilton Bernard, Michael Ducote, Dennis Ducote, Jr., Gerard Moreau, Carl Rollins, Michael Marcotte, Scotty Marcotte and Joey Marcotte.
Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Sunday and 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
A wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
