Mr. E.L., age 87 of Belledeau, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He is preceded in death by his son, Rudie L. Lacombe; granddaughter, April M. Lacombe; and his parents, Ellis and Annie Bordelon Lacombe.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and lifelong partner for 68 years, Delores Dauzat Lacombe; granddaughter, Brandi Lacombe Ducote (Joey) of Belldeau; three great-grandchildren, Cameron Ducote (Alayna) of Belledeau, Steven Ducote (Anna Blair) of Cottonport and Madison Ducote of Belledeau; and one great-great-grandson Rudy Stewart Ducote.

Better known as Grandpa to his granddaughter and great-grandchildren and as Parrain to all his nephews and nieces, E.L. was a soft-spoken man who loved his family and they loved him.  They were always going to him for advice.

E.L. was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman.  He worked for Louisiana DOTD as a Roadway Inspector from October 1955 to January 1987.

His faith never wavered regardless of life's situations.  He was a dedicated Catholic and was a lifelong member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Financial and Parish Council, Cemetery Committee, an usher, Eucharistic Minister, and lector for many years and an Honorary KC member of Council 9217 of Belledeau.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Cameron Ducote, Steven Ducote, Joey Ducote, Travis Ducote, Thomas Mayeux and Tre Perrin.  Cross bearer will be Madison Ducote.
