Obituary

Funeral services for Earline Barron will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Congregational First Baptist Church in Marksville with the Rev. Kelton Whittington officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Barron, age 91 of Cypress, TX, formerly of Marksville, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at her daughter's home.

On August 8, 1932, Earline M. Simon was born in Pineville, LA to Abel Simon and Elzika Ford Simon.  She was united in Holy Matrimony to her husband Ivory Barron, Sr. (deceased), and with her union God blessed them with three children, Patricia Juneau, Ivory Barron, Jr. (deceased), and Rhonda Barron.  She also was blessed with one step-son, Nathaniel Barron.

During Earline's early adult years, she attended college at Grambling State University for a short term.  Her love for family ignited her devotion to raising a family with her husband, while they traveled the world throughout his tenure in the military.  Anyone that knew Earline was treated like family as she never met a stranger.  She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and she would give her last to someone in need.  In-between raising her family, Earline enjoyed cooking and she had a passion for socializing with her family and friends.  In addition to nurturing her family and friends, Earline was also active within her community, including several years serving as an Usher of her long-term church, Congregational First Baptist.

Earline was preceded in death by her father, Abel Simon; mother, Elizka Simon; one brother, Weldon Simon; and two sisters, Evelyn Batiste and Mildred Jones.

She leaves in life to cherish her memories; two daughters, Patricia Juneau of Nederland, TX and Rhonda Barron of Houston, TX; one step-son, Nathaniel Barron of Pearland, TX; one son-in-law, Terell Juneau of Nederland, TX; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Friends may visit on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Congregational Frist Baptist Church in Markville.
