Obituary

Funeral services for Earl Jeansonne will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Richardson officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at the Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Jeansonne, age 81 of Cottonport, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center.

He was a life member of the VFW 3139 Marksville, a past Post Commander from 1982 – 1985, 2000-2002, and 2004-2005, a Korean War Navy Veteran and a member of the Cenla Honor Guard.

He is preceded in death by a son, Dwayne Anthony Jeansonne; a daughter, Glenda Nicholas; his parents, Silver and Mable Keller Jeansonne; and two brothers, Otis Paul and Harold Jeansonne.

Survivors include; two sons, Keith Jeansonne of Lake Charles, and Earl Jeansonne, Jr. and Felecia of Marksville; daughter, Rhonda J. Deville and husband Edwin of Upper Pine Prairie; step-daughter, Tracy Dauzat and husband Clarence of Brouillette; his special friend Judy Desselle of Cocoville; three brothers, Raleigh Jeansonne of Hessmer, Pete Jeansonne of Mansura and Edward Jeansonne of Walker; two sisters, Shirley Juneau of Ponchatoula and Marie Jeansonne
of Zachary; 10 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. on Friday until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. A rosary will be cited at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
