A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Goudeau will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with the Rev. Edwin Rodriguez officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Goudeau, age 84 of Bunkie, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville.

Donald worked as an electrician for 54 years and farmed sweet potatoes for about 12 years.  After retirement he piddled with woodworking and gardening and loved to squirrel hunt.  His favorite pastime was spending time with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Genell Gremillion Goudeau; his parents, Rufus and Mary Jusselin Goudeau; a granddaughter, Kelsey Guilbeau; and his brothers, Clyde, Jerry and Herbert Goudeau.

Survivors include his children; Glenn Goudeau and wife Rhonda of Bunkie, Sybil Guilbeau and husband Scott of Hessmer, Angie Marks and husband Todd of Baton Rouge and Donna Saucier and husband Doug of Plaucheville; his sisters, Genevieve Kelley of Alexandria, Emma McCoy (Roy) of Bunkie, and Adine Gaspard (Steve) of Marksville; brother-in-law, Joseph Gremillion and sister-in-law, Alice Goudeau; his grandchildren, Lauren (Steven) Valois, Lindsey (Tyler) Jeansonne, Spencer (Liz) Guilbeau, Nathaniel Guilbeau, Ellyn (Hayden) O'Neal, Emily Marks, Kelly Marks, Leslie (Sam) Arceneaux, David (Destiny) Saucier and Lilyan Saucier; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include; Spencer Guilbeau, Nathaniel Guilbeau, Steven Valois, Tyler Jeansonne, David Saucier, Hayden O'Neal and Sam Arceneaux.  Honorary pallbearer is Joseph Gremillion; and crossbearer, Landon Valois

Friends may visit on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to St. Alphonsus Chapel Fund, P.O. Box 66, Hessmer, LA  71341.
