A Mass of Christian Burial for Claudette Lemoine will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024 at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Laird officiating. Burial will follow in the Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.
Claudette passed away at home with family at her side on Wednesday, March 27th at 8:15 am.
Claudette married Darrell on July 2, 1956. They spent their early lives in Franklin, LA, and El Paso TX before retiring to Plaucheville and purchasing Lemoine's Grocery for five years. She then became a homemaker when they started a family. While raising their children, she also sold a variety of products. She started working full-time in for State National Life Insurance when her children finished high school. She was a state leader in sales and won numerous awards and trips for her impressive production. Her spitfire personality and head for numbers allowed her to excel at sales. After retiring from insurance, she took a job at the Plaucheville Town Hall as a clerk until the age of 70.
She is survived by her loving children Lisa Lemoine of Chicago (Mike Fore), Michael Lemoine of Marksville (Brenda), and Jarod Lemoine of Plaucheville (Julie). Four grandchildren Jonah (Natalie), Jack, Jordyn, and Juliet Lemoine. A step-grandchild, Haylee Doyle. Two great-grandchildren Riley and Parker Lemoine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Lemoine, her son, Randall Patrick, her parents Eugenia and Oliver Ducote, siblings Rudy Dufour, Bessie Ducote, Ardine Chenevert, James Ducote, Lottie Vallery.
Pallbearers Jonah Lemoine, Jack Lemoine, Chuck Lipsey, David Chenevert, Shannon Lemoine, and Terry St. Romain. Readers, Cindy Falls and Denise Akley. Gift bearers Jordyn and Juliet Lemoine. Cross bearer, Riley Lemoine, musical director, Michelle Gaillard.
Claudette will be remembered as a firecracker who never met a stranger.
