Funeral services for Claude Savage, Sr. will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Bayou Jacque Church of Christ with the Bro. David Broussard officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayou Jacque Church of Christ Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Savage, age 82 of Bayou Jacque, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his residence.

He worked as an electrician in New Orleans and at the Angola State Prison where he retired. He was a Corporal in the United States Army for two years where he served in the 129th infantry during the Korean War. He then served six years in the Army Reserves. Claude was also an avid outdoorsman. He was a lifetime member Keller Lake Hunting Club where he served on the board.

He is preceded in death by a son, Michael Savage; his parents, Sylvester and Ola Willis Savage; sisters, Annabelle S. Darby and Peggy Kinney; and a brother, Daniel Savage.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Miriam "Pete" Gautro Savage of Bayou Jacque; 3 sons, Larry Aymond and his wife Stephanie of Dupont, Claude Savage, Jr. and his wife Tonya of Bayou Jacque, and Curtis Savage and his wife Tammy of Plaucheville; a daughter, Louise Aymond Marks and her husband Warren of Washington; his siblings, Johnny Savage, Gloria Lemoine and Bobbie Dupuy all of Dupont; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. on Monday until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Bayou Jacque Church of Christ in Bayou Jacque.
