A Mass of Christian Burial for Chris Juneau will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Christopher "Chris" Juneau passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the age of 63 in Marksville, LA.  What a proud husband, father, and grandfather he was! Family was everything to him.  He met the love of his life 46 years ago, and they were a perfect match.  After many years of happiness, two daughters, four grandchildren, and one shared kidney, it's safe to say that Chris and JoJo created one beautiful life.  Chris loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He was there for it all…the piano recitals, dance reviews, baseball games, and fishing trips.  He will always be remembered as "silly Poppa!"

Anyone who knew Chris can say he was no stranger to hard work.  He followed in his father's footsteps and became a concrete contractor.  He successfully operated his own contracting business for 32 years.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents; Vernon and Murdis Johnson Juneau; brothers, Carl and Mark Juneau; and his in-laws, Roland and Jane Barone.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Jojo Barone Juneau of Bunkie; his daughters, Jade Juneau of Marksville and Mallory Juneau Prejean and husband David of Lafayette; his sisters, Elaine Fontanille and husband Terry of TX, Verna Maillet of Baton Rouge, Marlene Juneau of Bunkie and Duana Juneau of Lecompte; and his grandchildren, Bailor Acrey, Luna Acrey, Joey Pahl and Cooper Pahl.

Friends may visit on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
