CHARLES HAYES PURVIS, SR.

Funeral services for Charles Purvis will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in the Cushman Cemetery in Marksville. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Purvis, age 70 of Mansura, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his residence.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Tollie and Annie Mae Suddath Coates; sister, Shirley Carter, Lucille Hardy and Hope Coates; and a great-grandson, Eli Grand Cooper.

Survivors include four sons; Charles Purvis, Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Sulphur, Keith Cooper of Pennsylvania, Eugene Purvis and his wife Rhonda of Hessmer and Kenneth Cooper and his wife Shantelle of Bunkie; two daughters, Sherry Ducote and her husband Mark of Marksville and Chasity Purvis and her husband Theodore Abshire of Lake Charles; two brothers, Jimmie Coates and Tollie Coates, Jr.; 3 sisters, Carol Ann Rodrigues, Eunice Coates and Tannie Gayle Coates; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and his special friend, Nikki Moses of Poland.
