Funeral services for Carolyn Branch, along with her mother, Jean Soileau Ducote, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with the Msgr. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery.

Mrs. Branch, age 66 of Lafayette, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Carolyn was raised in Bunkie which is where she met her husband David for the first time.  She took her son Jonathan to the steps at LSU where she said was where David was finally able to get her to say yes to a first date.  Carolyn loved her family more than anything and was a dedicated wife and Mother.  In the late 80's her life took her to California where she raised her boys through their young adult life and is currently where her son Jason still lives.  Carolyn and David moved back to Shreveport Louisiana in 2005 and have been in Louisiana since then.  Carolyn's lovable and fiery demeanor will be missed but never forgotten.

She is preceded in death by her husband, David Branch and her parents, Floyd and Jean Soileau Ducote.

Survivors include her sons; Jonathan Branch and his wife Jenny of Prairieville and Jason Branch and his wife Sara of Camarillo, CA; her sister, Phyllis Ducote Poole of Lafayette and brother, Timothy Ducote (Jenene) of Lafayette; and her grandchildren, Alexis Abeloe-Coffee, Casey Branch, Hailey Branch, Savannah Branch and Alexander Branch.

Friends may visit on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.  A rosary will be recited at 12:00 noon.
