A Mass of Christian Burial for Calvin Meche will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Msgr. Stephen Scott Chemino officiating.  Burial will follow at a later date in the Pythian Mausoleum.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mr. Meche, age 95 of Bunkie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Floyce Matthew Meche; his parents, Jules and Youland Richard Meche and two sisters, Juanita Winston and Wilma Lee Hutto.

Survivors include his children; Cole Meche of Dayton, TX, Scott Meche (Patricia) of Bunkie and Lisa Meche of Bunkie; a sister, Julet Griffin (Morris) of Bunkie; his grandchildren, Joseph Meche (Adrian) and Desiree Grove (Eric); and a great-grandson Blake Grove.
