Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial for Bonnie Frank will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino, V.G. officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Frank, age 76 of Bunkie, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

Mrs. Bonnie was devoted to her family, friends and church. As a mother of three sons, she was usually seen playing ball or shuttling them to a practice. Her three boys kept her with a clean washcloth and broom in hand at all times. Mrs. Bonnie also had the honor and responsibility of raising a child with special needs. She spent many nights in hospital rooms and doctor visits to make sure he had the best care available. She was a champion for his health and inclusion and dedicated her life to ensure he was happy and loved. Mrs. Bonnie was also a doting grandmother to four grandsons. She had perfected the art of what little boys like to play with and how to feed them their favorites. She made sure that every Sunday her family had a homecooked meal to gather and visit around her table. As the owner and operator of her beauty shop, she made sure all her customers felt beautiful. She was so happy to see them leave with a smile or lend a compassionate ear in their time of need. Finally, Mrs. Bonnie was devoted to her church. As a lifetime member of St. Anthony of Padua of Bunkie La she worked as a pastoral assistant for many years. She was an active member of the Catholic Daughters of America, The Legion of Mary and other church activities.
Mrs. Bonnie lived her life to truly serve others through her family and her church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Wayne Frank; sons, Keith Frank and Randy Frank; her mother, Grace Gremillion LaFleur; her father Willie McDonald; and her sister, Emma Jean Gremillion.

Survivors include one son, Willie Ordonez and his wife Becky of Mansura; her grandchildren, William Frank and wife Mandi, Alex Frank, Jonas Ordonez and Collin Ordonez and her great-granddaughter, Anniston Grace Frank.

Friends may visit on Saturday from 7:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.  A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m.
