Ashley Ann LaBorde, 72, passed away at her home in Bordelonville, Louisiana, on Saturday, June 22, 2024.  She is survived by her brother, Glenn Desselle of Bordelonville, numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Louis "Mack" Laborde; mother, Verna Jean Desselle; and stepfather Clifford Desselle.

She was a 1970 graduate of Bordelonville High School, where she was active in the 4-H Club, FHA and played flute in the BHS band.  She earned a degree from LSU, where she also was a member of the LSU Marching Band.  Ashley retired from the State of Louisiana after 33 years of service.

She was gifted, creative and loved history and genealogy.  She had an incredible memory and loved talking about historical places and events.  She will be missed by many.

Ashley will be laid to rest next to her mother in the Bayou des Glaises Baptist Church Cemetery, Big Bend, Louisiana.  A private service will be held in the Bayou des Glaises Baptist Church on Saturday, June 29, 2024.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
