A Mass of Christian Burial for Albert Brodtman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Laird officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum.  Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Plaucheville.

Mr. Brodtman, age 80 of Cottonport, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Rapides Regional Medical Center.

Albert served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was a retired State Employee, where he worked as an Operating Engineer and HAVAC Engineer.  He also served as a Volunteer Firefighter and First Responder in Avondale.  Albert also restored and listed "The Raziano House" in Kenner on the National Register and was a proud Foster Father.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Albert and Louise Otis Brodtman and a brother, James Otis Brodtman.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Maudrey Stark Brodtman; his children, Matthew Brodtman (Sandi), Melissa Phillips (Tommy) and Lawrence Brodtman; a brother, Walter Brodtman; four granddaughters, Ashley, Kristen, Adalynn and Joselynne; great-granddaughter, Olivia and great-grandson, Micah (in May).

Friends may visit on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Plaucheville.  A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 3458 Hwy 107S, Plaucheville, LA  71362.
